A friend of mine went to DC for Barack’s inauguration, and I just received her pictures.  I know the glow has faded under the unrelenting economic misery, but the pictures bring back such a happy memory, I thought I’d put up a few.

That’s why photos are so good. They make us remember nice things in the past, and sometimes we need this more than at other times.

I was at the inauguration also – what a wonderful time! Didn’t get invited to any balls, but was fortunate enough to be invited to a reception overlooking the parade route. Especially as it was SO COLD that day.

Great photos! The inauguration was watched by almost as many Canadians as Americans! It was wonderful.

I think Barack is doing many things well–the economy is such a big worrying mess that it’s hard to know if his plans are the right ones or not, but at least he’s acting.
